Dedication of Eagles Wings
In January of 2012, after six years of building A dream home and ministry center, Eagles Wings was dedicated! What made the event special was that the Rev. Dr. Arthur Rouner came from America (Minnesota) to commission the home and Eagles Wings to ministry.
The first ministry event was held prior to the dedication - a retreat for pastors. Rev. Rouner, after leaving the church as Senior Minister, founded The Pilgrim Center for Reconciliation and began his work in Rwanda following the genocide, working with pastors of both Hutu and Tutsi tribes who had been implicated or impacted in some way in the violence and needed God's healing. He now holds these retreats in Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, Kenya, and Sudan as well as the United States.
People attended the dedication from many states and within Kenya. The Kenya Country Director for ICM, Stephen Mairori and his wife Roselyne along with staff members, the retreatants, including former World Vision member MacMillan Kiiru, Board members of the Pilgrim Center in Minnesota, and guests from Alabama and Florida.

Retreats, Trainings, Fundraisers
Eagles Wings hosts many events that cover the wide spectrum from being a special place for organizations and international groups to hold planning retreats, staff vacations, and just to rest. The mentor programs have their orientations and trainings here at least 3 times a year. A fashion show and Murder Mystery Theatre were held to raise funds for school fees at St. Andrews. A luncheon for the community was hosted with the price of admission being the donation of books for the library at St. Andrews. Eagles Wings hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for a group of American young people who founded an organization near us, and at Christmas Eagles Wings opens their doors for Kenyan families. Visiting teams give presentations and are involved in the mentor groups. A Career Day invited all the graduating students from the high school to come and hear presentations from alumni and schools for continuing education. We even had a cooking class for alumni!
